President’s Letter: Building an International Community
Tuesday, February 27, 2018
Successfully changing from the International Special Event Society (ISES) to the International Live Events Association (ILEA) ensures our name is representative of the industry we serve and ties to our mission and vision as an organization.
To continue to evolve as an organization, I’m excited to share that we are shifting our operational model to welcome all members from the Europe, Hong Kong, Middle East, Nigeria, Turkey and United Kingdom chapters to our community. These chapters were previously managed under our EMEA affiliate. This change allows ILEA to act as a more global model that will provide a broader voice for our members and the live events industry overall.
Lesley Fair will serve as the Regional Vice President for the EMEA region, and joins Dustin Westling, CSEP from Canada and our U.S. Regional Vice Presidents Donna Anello, CSEP - U.S. Northeast; Barb Harris, DMCP, CSEP - U.S. Midwest; Lori Harbin - U.S. Southeast; Dona Liston - U.S. Southwest; and Neil Adams - U.S. West.
This shift serves as an important detail in our strategic plan to drive value and impact for future growth for the live events profession around the globe.
Please join me in welcoming these members as they integrate into our collaborative community and overall operations model.
And, while we’re on the topic of continuing to build a strong community for the future, I want to remind you that nominations for the International Board of Governors is open through March 16, 2018. The future of ILEA rests on the direction of a committed, passionate group of volunteers who create a pathway for lasting growth and impact for the organization. Check your email for more information and contact Matthew Hessler for an application. Nominations to serve on an international committee will open soon.
Until next time…
Ingrid Nagy, CSEP
ILEA President
