Wow... these past few months have been a whirlwind. It was great to see many of you at ILEA Live to officially kick off what is sure to be an incredible year for our association.
As I mentioned at the Annual General Meeting in Denver, we are working to make ILEA the voice for the creative live events industry, and we can’t do it without your help. Here’s a reminder of a few ways you can contribute to the important conversations we need to be having as a collective of event professionals:
- Start talking. Help us articulate our value by talking to your colleagues, clients and industry influencers about the importance of our work and of the effort our association is putting forth to raise the bar of professionalism in events. Let others know that ILEA members are the best of the best. Start talking, sharing and hammering home the value of what we do and who we are. In turn, ILEA will raise our visibility and ensure that we are seen as an indispensable resource in the live events industry. The HUG campaign is a great way to tell your personal #myILEA story and recruit others to join our conversation.
- Contribute to Experience. You are an expert at what you do. Share that knowledge with thousands of colleagues by being published on the Experience content hub. We are working harder to share messages of creative inspiration and thought leadership pieces throughout the industry, but we need your participation to show the world just how impactful the work of live events professionals can be.
- Wear your ILEA membership and CSEP designation with pride. Consider the ILEA member logo and the CSEP logo as stamps of approval that you should put on your business website, social media accounts and printed marketing materials. When people see ILEA, we want them to think prestige.
I am honored to be your 2018–2019 ILEA International president so that I can do my part to turn up the volume on this conversation. I know and appreciate the value of ILEA, the creative genius of our members and the impact we have as an industry. Together, we will let the world know, so let’s start talking.
