President's Letter: Celebrating Your Membership
Tuesday, November 21, 2017
What an exciting time to be a member of the International Live Events Association! Your Board of Governors recently convened to review our current strategic plan progress and continue development of member and chapter programs to better serve you and the live events community. Our commitment remains on providing value for your membership dollars while serving as the voice for the live events industry.
To share highlights in a few noteworthy areas:
Membership
Find growth opportunities remains a high priority for the association. The development of a plan to increase membership and refine our new member engagement process is underway. We can only continue to meet member needs by understanding what is impacting member’s businesses and environments. To that end, a membership survey will be distributed in the coming months to gain valuable insights and help our future planning. An update of our affinity program will also launch in the coming weeks.
As a reminder, our December Membership Drive kicks off soon and is a great way to encourage new friends or colleagues to try ILEA.
Certified Special Event Professional (CSEP)
CSEP provides a unique opportunity for ILEA in the events and certification landscape. As a top priority, investment in the future of the CSEP is in progress, including increased exposure and a review of program operations and potential.
Education
Are you attending one of our upcoming partner events? Look for the ILEA Approved stamp for education at industry events, including The Special Event Show (TSE), Catersource and IMEX. The investigation of a plan for year-round education opportunities is in motion! Addressing challenges that small business owners face, such as insurance, safety and marketing, will allow ILEA to continue to provide members solutions to some of their most pressing business needs.
ILEA Live 2018
The planning for ILEA Live, Aug. 16-18 in Denver is on track with a focus on delivering education that allows attendees to conduct business better, improve creative output and find new ideas and inspiration. I can’t wait to share highlights with you in the coming weeks!
Chapters
The 2018 Chapter Leaders Summit dates and locations have been announced and registration is open. The program has evolved to better represent the operational and tactical training needed by chapter leaders. Learn more and register now for one of these spring summits. A more detailed breakdown of the agenda will be available in early 2018.
I am excited about the direction our organization is heading to drive value and impact for our members and the industry to position ILEA for future growth. None of this would be possible without our dedicated group of volunteer leaders. I thank you! I look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.
Until next time...
Ingrid Nagy, CSEP
ILEA President
